How can we find local diabetes or cancer foundations to donate to?

Unfortunately, everyone wants to go online these days and we do not want to donate to a foundation over the internet, we would like to do it in person and have a proof of donation (I know that there are printable ones if you donate online, but that requires giving someone your credit card number). So is there any way to locate local places to donate? We live in West/Southwest Michigan.
